Disability - Active inclusion for all

disabled mother and familyChildren – and adults – with disabilities deserve to live full lives within their own communities.  We work hard with families to strengthen their ability to support and love children with disabilities.

In many countries children with disabilities face a disproportionate risk of living in poverty and losing the care of their own families.  They often have reduced access to essential healthcare and educational services.   We work with families who may lack the information, training and support to cope with the challenges of disability within the family.  Our community based programmes honour the SOS Children policy on inclusion of children with disabilities: “Valuing diversity – Valuing differing ability”.
